Barefoot McCoy is an American singer-songwriter and musician based in Ohio.
His music is characterized by his poetic lyrics and distinctive instrumental work on the guitar, piano and banjo. Barefoot’s genre is a unique blend of folk, americana and singer-songwriter that evokes memory of yesterday and sparks hope for tomorrow.
During his summers in Kentucky, Jake was rarely seen with shoes as he walked the creeks and performed his music. He was thereby given the nickname “Barefoot” by his Kentucky friends, Rainwater (Cherokee) and Gail Roe.
Since 2015, Barefoot McCoy has performed over 1,400 shows in Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Florida, Indiana, New Mexico and California. Barefoot’s next studio album is due to be released in 2021.
